Through many campaigns, ASGK has learned the importance of reaching the right people – and thinking creatively about how to reach those people. For a campaign to be successful it is essential to understand who the important players are related to an issue. For every campaign, we develop an understanding of the stakeholder universe, including the relevant policymakers; the major influencers whose opinion carries weight within a geography and with the policymakers themselves; and supporters, opponents and those who are persuadable.
Public affairs campaigns often rely upon the strength of a base of supporters. We know that the greater the number of supporters that can be generated, the louder the drumbeat to accomplish a campaign’s objectives.
In particular, we have experience in mobilizing stakeholders to form coalitions on behalf of clients and establishing strong message-driven campaigns to then activate those coalitions around an issue. We’ve helped clients to build formal coalitions, with a credible name, mission, leadership and membership; as well as informal coalitions created through on-the-ground grasstops and grassroots outreach.
